Cash prizes for invaluable journalism

Larry Peterson was a political writer and editor for the Savannah Morning News. He died in 2014, after 40 years in the journalism industry.

His wife Lanie Lippincott Peterson, a noted Georgia journalist in her own right, wanted to celebrate both her husband and excellent local investigative reporting. So the Larry Peterson Award offers a $400 prize for professional journalists and $100 for college journalists.
